 Portalstones Transitions
Brought to you by Gaid, and Jo. Run and hide now. Be very afraid.
The idea for this (possible series of) writing came about when, dammit we're a site called Portalstones, but we never bloody use the Portalstones. I mean, what? All those worlds out there, and there's still nobody playing Doc Emmet Brown and travelling everywhen just because he can.
We are a team of operators. We're recruited by a fairly advanced technological world(think Age of Legends style at least, in terms of channeling). This world figured out portalstones and how they work, front and back. They figured out how to have a non-channeler work them. They've been across the ages and seen some of the crazier mistakes made. They prefer to prevent them. In that sense, we are neither good, nor evil. We're interested in the preservation of existence. To that end, the Dark One is still the only real entity with a definitive interest to tear down existence as we know it and rebuild it, so...we often work on the side of Good(TM). Coincidence, I know. That's what I thought too, until I saw the records of taking down the benevolent dictators and watching that society spiral into madness as the world re-arighted itself. We're not necessarily interested in killing them. We're not a hit squad in the purest sense. We'll do so if there's no other way. But if we can remove them from their position by some other means, we will by all means do so should we choose.
We haven't totally hammered out how they figure out who, what, and when they're stopping yet. But we do know this. We get a dimension, time, location, and a name. We have no clue whether the name is the target, or a victim persay. All we know is they're somehow involved.
Rule #1: No Tav'eren characters. At least as Operatives, for lack of a better term. You're too important to your world. Want to play the Tav'eren in the proverbial one-shot? By all means join.
Rule #2: There are no other rules. Want to toy with one of your existing characters, and they were recruited from a different dimension. By all means! It's what me and Jo are doing. It also lets you sidestep Rule #1 very nicely.
Rule #3: Well, more a Fact of Life(TM) than a rule, as it won't apply past the first thread, the Pilot so to speak. We figured not enough Second Chosen have lost their battle in so complete a manner than we could say they Lost(TM). To that end, the Second Chosen Mai Johan is the name we get for the Pilot, and it will run in the traditional Portalstones world, letting people join in whatever capacity they wish. The fun part, another version of Mai is one of those gunning for her.
Aside: Should it go past the Pilot, some of these can be big. Some can be 2-3 page one-shot episodes. Some can be a series of those episodes tying together into a twisted story. There's not really a limit or style here.
Who's interested?

 Re: Portalstones Transitions
I heard the name Mai Johan mentioned. I know just the person to run after her. Count me interested.

 Re: Portalstones Transitions
Well, that sounds cool. Count me in. Are the Operatives allowed to have some magical/supernatiral abilities?

 Re: Portalstones Transitions
Wheel of Time setting is preferred for a basis of the supernatural. It's just the most well known, with the fewest questions. Though certainly don't let it steer you away from a story. We're just trying to avoid inventing a whole new system here.
Technology has a little more leeway, but still preferred to be subtle relative to the world. Think of it as modern earth is Class V, the normal world we write in is Class III. No blatant Class V technology in the Class III world.

 Re: Portalstones Transitions
First post is up.
Second post will be dealing with the mission. Anybody know what part they'd like to play for the thread?

 Re: Portalstones Transitions
Could this be Falira`s intro thread in the operator team? She`s a White Tower runaway and I never RPed much with her, so she can take pretty much every part that brings her into contact with you operators. I`d like her to be tied to your mission/your target somehow, so let me know what you`re planning.
