“What are Rituals? Customs? They are ways that are held sacred and are past down from generation to generation. But now we face the reality that one ritual… a rite, the very thing that makes our society what we are is going to burn in the Pit of Doom. These Asha’man claim to have cleansed saidin. Have we any proof of this? No. What we have is evidence that the taint is still festering in the male half of the True Source. We have captured at least six of these Asha’man in our custody that have clearly gone insane and have killed innocent lives in their madness. They have been Shielded and are now being held elsewhere in the Tower.”

Teranna let the words set in with the masses of the White Tower. Her green eyes scanned the audience, eyeing Accepted and Novices both, along with any Aes Sedai that had decided to attend the gathering. Blue, White, Grey, Green, especially Red and Brown Ajahs were all invited to listen, though, not many attended--not even within her own Ajah!--Teranna wasn’t a great speaker—she seldom spoke either way—but if she had to convince these women, then she would talk until her vocal cords snapped.

She saw faces that had not yet received their agelessness and a many more in white dresses that were most of the throng. There were murmurs and horrid faces in the people—none were Aes Sedai of course—as a metal cage was produced moving through the crowd being accompanied by several other Red sisters holding the shield over the man, cutting him off from the One Power. The man was one of those accursed Asha’man that had insanity creep up on him. He just sat there rocking back and forth, back and forth, rambling on and on about people who weren’t there and talking to himself on how he was going to kill everyone here including himself. If she only reached four of her sisters with this speech then showing him to them would have been worth it. The Red Ajah had to be made to see why they were established again. They had forgotten what their true purpose: to find and Gentle any man found channeling saidin. They would see again though, the had to, for the sake of everyone.

“The Red Ajah has become a shell of its former self. We are allowing men to channel everywhere. There are no indications that there is a need for the Asha’man in the Karaethon Cycle. So why are we allowing them to run free unchecked? And even worst, some of our sisters have even gone as far as bonding them as our Gaidin! We have no idea the effects of this on the minds of our fellow sisters. What if the Bond carries the taint over to the sister and causes her to fall into insanity?” There were gasps of shock and distress filled by Novice and Accepted and Aes Sedai alike.

“And even if the taint has been purified from saidin,” That was said with more than a little disbelief from the tall Cairhien, but she pressed on nonetheless. “Men are not responsible enough to wield that kind of power. It has been proven time and time again. From the Dragon Lews Therin Tealmon Kinslayer to the Dragon Reborn Rand al’Thor himself, they handled their power negligently and so have these Asha’man. I come to you sisters of the White Tower to think about these men that wield the Power as a weapon, not bound by the Three Oaths and use your intellect, use discretion when conversing with these men. Thank you.”

The crowd was a hush. A nail could be heard hitting the floor in Ebou Dar with all the silence. Cool faces looked to youthful faces and youthful faces to cool ones in what could only be contemplation. Good, what she said struck a cord in these women. Amending her shawl—a shade of red that she was very proud of—and fingering her ring, not the ring depicting a serpent eating it’s own tail that symbolized her as Aes Sedai, this was one of pure gold design, with one small, blood red gem entrenched into it. It held a significant weight on par with the shawl—maybe even more so—it signified her as much more than an Aes Sedai of the Red Ajah but a member of the Red Sisterhood. An institution within the Red Ajah that held the beliefs of the old concerning the dealing with the Asha’man, true within their hearts. With only one, controversial, exception—they weren’t Gentled, they were lynched. An only logical course of action, since cutting off from the True Source could be Healed now.

They deserve to be hung. At the very least, that.

“That was a very impressive speech Teranna, very nice indeed.” One of the White Tower sisters told her as she continued her departure from the small dais. “I had no idea that you still felt that way about the Asha’man.” She was a tall, sinewy woman with more gray in her hair than white and a hooked nose to top it all of. Her round blue eyes still held much fire in them though; she wore a green shawl around her shoulders and a white and red dress as her attire. Jolin Derelz was her name, a green with an Asha’man as her Gaidin. She was a monstrosity. “But you are wrong about them. Saidin is cleansed; those who go insane had already deteriorated to that before the cleansing. You are spreading false rumors and it will not go well with others.”

It took much self-control to keep from sneering at the ignorant woman. Of course she still felt that way about those bloody Asha’man! Was she trying to threaten her with her words? The gall of this woman, she may not be able to use the Power as a weapon but that did not stop the thought from playing idly in her mind. “Well, now you do. And false rumors? How are you to know that the male half of the Power has been cleansed? There have been reports of insanity throughout the land! And that… thing… is one of them. Now if you would forgive me, I have things that need to be attended to.” Teranna didn’t wait for an acknowledgment from the other sister for her to depart to find the other sisters Nicavia and Meijina. “Foolish woman, they will see what kind of mistake they’ve made, trusting these bloody Asha’man.” She said to the two Reds who nodded in approval.

They knew as she did, that the Tower would see, but it would be far too late. And that truth scared her more than what was in that cage.

Post Re: A Red By Any Other Name
I definitely liked this bio. It was a shorter bio, but gave a really good sense of her deep, passionate hatred toward the Asha'man.

I did notice a few typos, which I'll point out rather quickly:

Original sentence: She saw faces that had not yet received their agelessness and a many more in white dresses that were most of the throng.

With this sentence, I would take out the a between the 'and' and 'many' so it would read, '...their agelessness and many more...'

Original sentence: They had forgotten what their true purpose: to find and Gentle any man found channeling saidin.

Here the first part of the sentence doesn't make sense. You could either add is before the colon, or you could get rid of what.

Original sentence: They would see again though, the had to, for the sake of everyone.

I believe here it is obvious to see that the the should just be they.

Original sentence: And even worst, some of our sisters have even gone as far as bonding them as our Gaidin!

Here worst simply needs to be worse.

I also noticed in some of the places where you had dialogue and continued the sentence, you placed a comma after the dialogue instead of at the very end.

Example: "And even if the taint has been purified from saidin,” That was said with more than a little disbelief from the tall Cairhien, but she pressed on nonetheless. “Men are not responsible enough to wield that kind of power...

With this sentence, you did place a comma after saidin in order to mark the continuing of the dialogue, but then you do not need to capitalize That. Also, then because the dialogue of what she is saying continues, you then replace the period after nontheless with a comman, then lowercase Men.

If that's still confusing, this is how the sentence would look: "And even if the taint has been purified from saidin,” that was said with more than a little disbelief from the tall Cairhien, but she pressed on nonetheless, “men are not responsible enough to wield that kind of power...

There were a few similar cases like this one, but that one was probably the most confusing to point out.

Original sentence: Good, what she said struck a cord in these women.

Usually with this saying, you would use chord (as in a musical chord) rather than a fabric or rope cord.

Original sentence: She was a tall, sinewy woman with more gray in her hair than white and a hooked nose to top it all of.

Here is it obvious to see that of should be off.

I did notice a few places lacking commas, but those are simple enough to find just by rereading. I also noticed places where you italicized either Asha'man or saidin, and in other places you didn't. I would just go through and make sure it is all uniform. I see that in some places she is emphasizing the word, which is good, but in other places she is not, so that's just a suggestion for you.

I look forward to reading more about this character, and hopefully one day you can expand your bio for us to get an even better look at Teranna!

Edit: Oops!! Sorry, wrong person's bio. I'm sure my earlier comments made no sense!

*was brain-dead and sick when she posted*

Nice bio, though! I enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from you.
